Dear Friend in Scouting,

My name is Ken Fanska. My coworker, Alan Henry, and myself are the Customer Relations Associates for the Youth and Outdoor Program Development for The Coleman Company, Inc.

We would like to make you aware of a program we have in place to benefit non-profit organizations such as yours. We have developed a website, www.coleman.com/nonprofit , specifically for Non-Profit organizations and their members to purchase Coleman products at special pricing. This site allows Councils and Troops to register and receive a password that allows them to view our electronic catalog. This includes product specifications, camping tips, pricing discounts and the ability to place your order on line.

Please feel free to check out the website and share the information with others that you feel would benefit from this opportunity. Please contact me if you have any questions. You may email us at youthprg@coleman.com, fax us at 316-219-2093 or call us direct.

Sincerely Yours,

Alan Henry Ken Fanska

Information about programs for scouts to learn about astronomy both at SPAR Planetarium and in outdoor programs.

"The ArkLaTex Astronomer" runs the planetarium in Shreveport, The brand new "Blue Moon Traveling Observatory", and offers several programs targeted for Scouting.

1. Scouting for Stars is a one hour planetarium show which teaches the boys several constellation and principals of beginning astronomy.
2. Camp Star*light lockinns at the planetarium provide an all night experience which many units take advantage of each year.
3.Outdoor stargazing with GIANT telescopes and or live "Starrytelling" indoors or out.

We also talked about a new stargazing project in the area parks we will begin in April, with volunteer help provided by Scout units in trade for some instruction / training in astronomy.

Below is a link to the website, and another directly to the program pages I think might interest both adult and youth leaders of the council. The web page for Blue Moon is not quite ready for human consumption so I will send more on it later.

The ArkLaTex Astronomer will be found as follows www.abcstar.com
