Making an Investment in Scouting
There are a variety of methods in which gifts can be made to Scouting.

 

Friends of Scouting
Each year beginning in January The Norwela Council begins it's Friends of Scouting campaign. Friends of  Scouting are individuals who include Scouting in their charitable giving on a annual basis. Friends of Scouting is the major source of income for The Norwela Council. The levels of giving are;

Benefactor - $2,500.00 and up
Guardian Member - $1,000 to $2,499
Patron - $500 to $999
Leadership Member - $250 to $499
Century Member - $100 to $249
Supporter - Any Gift

Friends of Scouting- a True investment in Scouting. 

As a steward to Scouting, we all have an obligation to supporting all needs of the Norwela Council, BSA.  One of those needs is financial.  The Friends of Scouting Campaign is our annual financial Stewardship effort to raise the funds necessary to support the Scouts in our Council. 

One of the ways you can help with stewardship is supporting the Family Friends of Scouting (FOS) Campaign.  Beginning in the first of the year, your Pack, Troop, or Crew will be asked to participate in a Family FOS Campaign.  A representative of your district will come to one of your meetings to talk with parents about the Family FOS Campaign.  The best time is when you have a majority of your parents in attendance, like a Court of Honor, or Blue and Gold Banquet. 

All Packs, Troops, and Crews in the Council have an obligation of support the efforts of the Norwela Council, and Family FOS is one of those obligations.  Each parent should have the opportunity to learn about our operations, and why they should consider making a contribution to support Scouting in 2003.

 James E West Fellowships
A national recognition for individuals who contribute $1,000 or more in cash or securities to the endowment. Many donors choose to honor someone with this gift - an Eagle Scout, Scouting volunteer, or a departed loved one.

Heritage Society
A recognition program of The Norwela Council,  this program recognizes gifts of cash, securities or other assets of $5,000 or more. To qualify for the Heritage Society an individual can make an immediate gift or a pledge to be fulfilled over a period of time.

1910 Society
A recognition program designed by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America, this program recognizes gifts of $25,000 or more to be fulfilled by the year 2000. These gifts can be cash or assets that can easily be converted to cash.

Memorials
A memorial gift to honor a special person.

Wills and Estate Planning
